Minsk official vows prices won't soar during world hockey championship
The anti-trust department head at Minsk City Hall Mikalai Kryzhevich says the prices will not skyrocket ahead of the upcoming ice hockey world cup.
The Minsk authorities have studied the experience of conducting similar events in the neighbouring countries and taken a number of “preventive measures”, he said. The authorities and enterprises that will render services in public catering and hotels will sign agreements denoting the threshold of prices. “Everything will be civilized,” the official told Minskers.
The world hockey championship will be held in Minsk in May 2014. Thousands of foreign hockey fans are expected to visit the Belarusian capital.
