MP Hanna Kanapatskaya meets with German Chancellor Angela Merkel

Belarusian MP Hanna Kanapatskaya has met with German Chancellor Angela Merkel. They met during the recent meeting of the Christian Democratic Union in Essen.

“Germany’s political system is one of the most balanced and effective in Europe. The experience of the leading European states will definitely help the development of Belarus’ political system. Belarus’ party system has a great future. We should learn from other countries’ mistakes to avoid making ours. It is essential that the basis for a real parliamentarianism is laid at the beginning of this new way. This kind of parliamentarianism has existed in Germany for many years,” Kanapatskaya wrote on Facebook.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel was re-elected party leader at the meeting. She decided to take part in the coming parliamentary election despite the loss of votes caused by the migration crisis.

“We wished success to one another,” Hanna Kanapatskaya noted.
