Nadiya Savchenko receives fake letter from Petro Poroshenko

The Ukrainian Nadiya Savchenko kept in Russian jail was handed a fake letter from the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko. Her lawyer Mark Feigin wrote this on Facebook. According to him, it was a "special operation", which targeted the Consulate General of Ukraine in Rostov-on-Don and him. Yesterday, he was contacted through the Consulate General by a man, allegedly from the presidential administration of Ukraine and gave him a letter to Nadiya Savchenko. The lawyer passed it to her. The letter contained a request to stop the hunger strike and an offer to enter the "renewed government" after returning home. Under the influence of this letter, the Ukrainian stopped the hunger strike.

"The Kremlin is busy discrediting Savchenko, her lawyers, and state bodies of Ukraine. Instead of solving the question of the exchange, the security services are playing with Savchenko's life, deceiving the Consul General of Ukraine, the press-service of the President of Ukraine and me," wrote Feigin.

Press secretary of Poroshenko Svyatoslav Tsegolko told UNIAN that President of Ukraine did not write letters to Savchenko, and only passed on to her words of support through her sister and mother.

Later, the responsibility for the action was assumed by prankster Vladimir Kuznetsov. According to him, the aim was to end the hunger strike of Savchenko and "for her to calm down," which he and his colleagues achieved, RIA NOVOSTI reports.

Nadiya Savchenko is a Ukrainian pilot, an officer, a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. Since the summer of 2014, she has been in the territory of Russia (she claims that she was taken to the Russian side by force), Savchenko is accused of complicity in the deaths of Russian journalists in Luhansk. The prosecution requested to sentence her to 23 years of imprisonment. The sentence is to be passed on 21-22 March.
