“New Belarusian Spacecraft” getting ready to be launched

A new Belarusian spacecraft will be launched at the end of 2009. The head of the unitary enterprise “Geoinformation systems” Syarhei Zalaty informed about it. “It will not be BelKA-2”, - he said. The working title is “New Belarusian Spacecraft”. Its final title will be chosen half a year before the “NBelKA” will be created.

According to Syarhei Zalaty, the chief designer of “BelKA” that did not reach into space in the summer of 2006, the new spacecraft will be twice as light and it will be more mobile.

It is already known that “NBelKA” will be launched from the “Plesetsk” space centre with the help of a “Rokot” launch vehicle.
