Normandy 4 may gather next week
The Normandy Four leaders of France, Germany, Russia and Ukraine may meet again next week to continue with efforts for peace in eastern Ukraine.
The 'Normandy Four' may gather next week if the realisation on Minsk agreements requires it, French President François Hollande announced after the EU summit in Brussels.
If the ceasefire appointed for Sunday does come into force, ‘the Norman Four’ will discuss it by phone next week, Hollande noted. It will help understand whether the agreements are observed.
Another meeting of ‘the Norman Four’ may be held next week if necessary, foreign information agencies quote the President of France.
French President François Hollande, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Russian leader Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko met in Minsk on February 12. The leaders of ‘the Norman Four’ spent 16 hours discussing the crisis in Ukraine. The main results of the signed memorandum are: the ceasefire staring from February 15, removal of heavy artillery and exchange of captives.
