Organizer of Paris terrorist attacks killed

Organizer of November 13 terrorist attacks in Paris Abdelhamid Abaud was eliminated by the French riot police during a special operation in Saint Denis on November 18. A terrorist grouping was liquidated there; most of its members were arrested.

Paris prosecutor Francois Molins confirmed the elimination of Abaud on Thursday, BBC reports.

The late announcement can be explained by a long recognition procedure. A female suicide bomber exploded her suicide belt during the special operation on Wednesday. Abdelhamid Abaud was also killed in the blast and his body could only be identified with the help of his fingerprints.

Abaud and his terrorist grouping were preparing new terrorist attacks in Paris. However, chemical and biological attacks are still possible, French PM Manual Valls claimed after the liquidation of the grouping.

Abdelhamid Abaud was a Belgian citizen of Moroccan origin. He joined the Islamic State in 2013.
