OSCE criticizes Belarus for poor media freedom record
Dunja Mijatovic, OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media, submitted her first report to the OSCE Permanent Council in Vienna. Radio Svaboda reports Belarus was mentioned among other countries in the report. Dunja Mijatovic mentioned her list to Belarus' foreign minister Sergei Martynov in May when she expressed concern over the harrassment of Belarusian journalists Svyatlana Kalinkina, Maryna Koktysh, Natallia Radzina and Iryna Khali[ in connection with their interrogations and the seizure of their computers over the so called 'hunting case'.
Dunja Mijatovic also expressed disappointment that the law regulating the internet was passed without consultations with the public.
