Participants of action in support of Zmitser Paliyenka get fined

Administrative cases of participants of the action of solitary with Zmitser Paliyenka were considered in Minsk Maskouski District Court on August 10. The action was held near the detention centre in Valadarski Street on July 17.

Administrative reports for participation in an unauthorized action were drawn up against civil activists Volha Mikalaichyk, Natallya Harachka, Volha Mayorava and Maksim Vinyarski. All of them were fined for 10560 roubles each (50 base amounts).

Paliyenka and five other people were detained by riot policemen and severely beaten at the cyclists’ action Critical Mass on April 29. Criminal cases for violence directed at policemen were started against two of the detained. One of the detained, Stas Kanavalau, was released on recognizance. Paliyenka was left in jail until the trial.
