Peskov: Kremlin does not discuss lower gas and oil prices for Belarus

Пяскоў: У Крамлі не абмяркоўваюць зніжэнне коштаў на нафту і газ для Беларусі

There are no discussions at the Kremlin to reduce gas and crude oil costs for Belarus, reports the Russian state news agency TASS quoting the Russian president's spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

Peskov also said on Monday that no bilateral meeting between Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenka was planned.

On December 16, Belarusian Vice Premier Uladzimir Syamashka stated there were grounds for significant reduction of the Russian gas prices effective from January 1, 2016.

On December 20, Russian ambassador in Minsk Alexander Surikov said in an interview with ONT TV channel that Russia could charge Belarus between 135 and 140 US dollars for 1000 cubic meters of natural gas. Currently, Belarus pays $142 per 1000 cubic meters.
