PM: Village administrators are overwhelmed with pessimism and doom
The Council of Ministers' meeting on February 11 focused on the ways of boosting agricultural production in Belarus.
It is necessary to focus efforts on milk production, Prime Minister Mikhail Myasnikovich said at the meeting.
"The industry should be preserved, developed and supported because we can make money on it,” BELTA quotes the PM. Despite the fact that milk production is profitable in Belarus, we are not using its full potential, Myasnikovich thinks.
The ways of finding market niches were also discussed at the meeting alongside with the responsibility of the agricultural industry for not fulfilling its tasks. “Everyone’s results are bad”, Myasnikovcih said. However, he is worried about the fact that village administrators are prone to pessimism and even the feeling of doom. This mood can be observed even at promising farms. “It should not be this way,” the PM said.
It was also stated that the Belarusian agriculture lacked qualified specialists able to adapt to new working conditions.
