Poland has issued 586 thousand visas to Belarusians since the beginning of 2021, both Schengen and national visas. Only Ukrainians received more visas - 990 thousand. Such statistics were published by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland.
The statistics were published against the background of a high-profile scandal: there are suspicions that large-scale corruption schemes were at work when issuing visas. The Polish authorities have responded to the investigations by saying that "not all the information is true". But the opposition claims that these schemes contributed to the illegal migration of Asians through Belarus.
As for the visas issued to Belarusians, there do not seem to be any serious questions.
