Police confirm one fatality among protesters

One person died due to an explosion in Prytyckaha Square in western Minsk. The police's press office said it happened on August 10 at around 23:00 when protesters were mounting barricades.
"During the standoff with commandos who were deployed to clear the square, one of the protesters tried to throw an unknown explosive device towards the security officers. The device got exploded in his hands and the man was lethally wounded," the police said in a statement.
Euroradio reported earlier that law-enforcement officers used stun grenades when they stormed the protesters. Several people were reportedly injured. An ambulance attended to at least one injured in the area.
