Police: Drivers in Minsk ignore No Car Day
Drivers in the Belarusian capital of Minsk have ignored No Car Day, Zhanna Traino, a spokeswoman for Minsk Traffic Police Department said in statement.
The situation on roads in the city on September 22 (No Car Day) was as much the same as on ordinary days, she said.
Traffic jams were observed in the morning and evening rush hours as usual. Nearly 100 violations of parking rules were reported (as much as every day).
98 road accidents also matched average statistics. Over 1000 people were fined for violations of traffic rules -- no difference from ordinary days, reports BELTA.
