Polish PM Ewa Kopacz resigns
A political party got the majority of mandates for the first time in the history of Poland on October 25. It will be able to form the government without a coalition now.
Law and Justice has 235 out of 460 mandates. 231 votes are needed to form a government.
According to the Polish constitution, PM Ewa Kopacz (Civil Platform) has resigned, Polskie Radio reports.
President Andrzej Duda will appoint a new government within 14 days after the new parliament starts working.
The winning party Law and Justice has officially suggested Beata Szydło for the position of the Prime Minister.
