Protest actions against nuclear power plant in Astravets district (photo)
Protests took place on August 23 in the Astravest district, Hrodna region against the government's plans to build a nuclear power plant in the region. The action was organized by the Anti-atom Resistance group, the Belarusian Anti-Nuclear Campaign and the Russian pressure group Ecooborona (Ecodefense).
The ecologists met with local residents and handed out leaflets and unfolded posters. None of the 30 participants of the action who were travelling on bikes in the area was detained.
