Putin comments on Yanukovich’s statement about Russia blackmail
Ukraine's Victar Yanukovich is rumoured to have told Lithuania's Dalia Grybauskaitė why an association agreement with the EU could not be signed.
The Ukrainian President explained it by Russia’s economic pressure.
The Russian President joked and asked to clarify the details of the phone conversation of the Ukrainian and Lithuanian Presidents in America. “I do not know what the Presidents talked about,” RIA Novosti quotes Vladimir Putin. “Maybe we should ask our American friends about it? They may explain it but they haven’t told us anything yet. It is difficult to comment on comments.”
Ukraine stopped the preparation for an association and free trade agreement with the EU, the government announced on November 21. It had to be signed at the Eastern Partnership summit in Vilnius next week.
