Melting snow dangerously raises water levels in southern areas of Belarus
Ruslan Habrylyou, spokesman for Emergencies Ministry's regional office in Homel: "The majority of the affected plots (around 100) are deserted summer houses. In Mozyr district, water levels are 50 cm higher than normal. Water is aslo rising in Naroulia district. At the moment, no evacuation is taking place."
Rescue workers forecast floods will occur in two phases in Homel region. During the first phase, five districts in River Prypyats basi. The second phase will affect River Dniapro and River Sozh basins.
