American Embassy conducted negotiations with Victar Lukashenka
The events of May 2008 have been made public in documents available in the website WikiLeaks.
The secret dispatch of the U.S. Embassy to Vilnius describes a meeting of American diplomat Jonathan Moore with Victar Lukashenka – the Belarusian President’s eldest son and his assistant for national security.
They discussed the problem of political prisoners and Alyaksandr Kazulin in particular, and the economic sanctions during the 40-minute meeting. Victar Lukashenka did not make any concessions, reports “Belarusian News”. However, he promised to be available for new meetings if necessary.
