BPF activist Syarhei Nyahatsin stands trial in Mahilyou
He has been detained in a police office and delivered to Mahilyou Lenin District Court.
Syarhei says that policemen phoned him and asked him to take away the independent newspapers confiscated from him a few weeks before. When the activist arrived at the police office, he was accused of an administrative violation.
According to policemen, the date-line in the newspaper “Here and Now” was wrong which is a violation. The activist has been delivered to court.
Human rights activist Barys Buhel has not been allowed to attend the hearing. According to him, policemen have ordered not to let anyone enter. Moreover, the working day had already finished. Mr.Ratnikau will be the judge.
Let us remind you that policemen detained Nyahatsin “for identification” a few weeks ago. He was delivered to a police office and about 30 issues of “Here and Now” and “Choice” were confiscated from him.
