European Commissioner Füle supports Belarusian HR defenders (photo)
European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy Štefan Füle met with human rights defender Valyantsin Stefanovich.
According to the information provided by the web-site of the human right center "Vyasna",the meeting took place in Brussels. The European Commissioner discussed the situation with human rights defenders in Belarus and expressed his support of their activity once again.
Let us remind you, Minsk district court declined the appeal of Ales Byalyatski and left the sentence in force. The European Commissioner expressed his deep concern in this regard. He urged the Belarusian authorities once again to release Byalyatski immediately and unconditionally, and two withdraw all charges against him and his deputy Valyantsin Stefanovich.
