"Inter RAO" stops electric power supply to Belarus since June 22

This has been informed by the web-site interfax.by with a reference to the company's spokesman Mikalaj Harelau. The company "Belenergo" was supposed to transfer the second tranche of the electric power supply debt to the Russian side before June 20. However, "Belenergo" sent a letter to Russia asking to postpone the payment till July 5. The company explained that they could not pay the debt due to the currency crisis in the country.

However, this contradicted previous agreements, and the Russian company refused to postpone the payment for yet another time.

Let us remind you, "Belenergo" owes more than 50 million dollars. The first paid tranche made about one third of this sum.
