Monument to terrorist act victims to be opened tomorrow (photo)
It has been a year since the blast at the "Kastrychnitskaya" metro station occurred, on April 11.
Kanstantsin Selikhanau has become the author of the sculpture composition. His "River of Memory" has been named the best out of seven presented variants. The monument has been installed near the entrance to the "Kastrychnitskaya" metro station, at the spot where the Minskers brought flowers and candles right after the terrorist act.
Let us remind you, the blast occurred in the Minsk metro on April 11, 2011. Two suspects in its organization - Vitsebsk natives Dzmitry Kanavalau and Uladzislau Kavalyou - were arrested two days later. In the end of November the court considered them guilty and sentenced to death. They were executed on March 15.
15 people died as a result of the terrorist act, several hundred were injured. Four people are still under treatment.
