Official Minsk not satisfied with UN Human Rights Committee’s statement

The press sectary of the Ministry, Andrei Savinyh, has informed the BelTA agency about it.

Let us remind you that the reason for the loud statement was the execution of two death sentences. Aleh Hryshkautsou and Andrei Burdyka’s cases were still under advisement in the UN Committee.

However, the official Minsk does not think that the appraisal of the UN Human Rights Committee corresponds to the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. Savinyh has reminded that Belarus has never promised to abolish the death penalty.
