PACE to discuss situation with human rights in Belarus
PACE's autumn session opens today in Strasbourg.
Belarusian issue is to become the key topic at the session, informs ITAR-TASS. The Commission on political issues will study the situation with preservation of human rights and freedom of media in Belarus. It is possible that the participants of the session will discuss provision of a special guest status to our country. Let us remind you, the official Minsk was deprived from this status in late 1990s.
It is expected that a new rapporteur on Belarus, Estonian MP Andres Herkel will speak at the session with participation of representatives of the Belarusian opposition.
