PACE urges to release Belarusian political prisoners
It was announced at the today's meeting of the PACE Committee on Political Affairs.
PACE urged to relapse and acquit all political prisoners including those who were released earlier unconditionally and urgently.
According to the statement, 12 political prisoners are still in prison. Trustworthy information about tortures, lack of medical and legal assistance has appeared, BelaPAN notes.
Moreover, the PACE Committee on Political Affairs has unanimously supported the idea of nominating Andreas Herkel, PACE Rapporteur on Belarus, for the PACE Human Rights Prize in 2013.
A scandal occurred during the meeting. The official representative of Belarus was asked to leave the room because he did not have a special invitation.
