The Soviet district court of Minsk fined two participants of the action at the minimum. Civil defenders claimed that when the accused admit guilt they should be punished at the minimum. Two youngsters admitted that they swore in a public place and the judge fined them for 17 500 Br each. A human rights defender Nasta Lojka has informed this to Euroradio.

Brothers Andrej and Aliaksej Dvaretski have been fined for 1 million 850 thousand Br by Lenin district court of Minsk.

Pavel Prakapovich has been fined for 1 million 50 thousand Br by the Soviet district court of Minsk.

Uladzimir Shulha, Jury Khalezin, Pavel Kudzelka, Kanstantsin Sakalouski, Aliaksandr Rutski –fined for 700 thousand Br, Siarhej Maishuk and Leanid Kholad – fined for 70 thousand Br.

Maxim Charniauski has been fined for 1 million 50 thousand Br by the Lenin district court of Minsk.

 

Euroradio: Are you going to appeal the sentence and do you plan to come to the next action?

Charniauski: “Of course I will come to the next action and will appeal this sentence. Anton Matolka took pictures how several riot policemen chased me and put me down on the ground, and he agreed to help. We’ll fight. I have not changed my active civil position”.

According to the information provided by human rights defenders, about 10 thousand people took part in yesterday's action in more than 40 cities, about 500 people were detained. A human rights defender Nasta Lojka has informed live on air to Euroradio that the number of people who participated in the action increased by three times in comparison with the previous action.

Shocking evidence of one of the convicts. Stanislau Arsoba has told the following live on air to Euroradio: “They released me after 3 hours. Made no charges. They detained me at Niamiha. I was standing near the church when a bus with riot policemen arrived and they started catching people. I was at a rather big distance and I started filming. When I went upstairs, there was a youngster who got arrested and I started filming this. A policeman with a camera approached me, filmed me, called another policeman and said "This one, too". They dragged me into the bus, formatted the memory card in my cell-phone and drove somewhere. They delivered us to the police department and lined us up. They randomly chose 8 people, then convoyed us somewhere and I heard the policeman saying "Petty hooliganism for these people". It is still unclear to me how they chose whom to fine and whom not to fine. They led us to the cabinet. We were just sitting there. They were thinking what to do for a half an hour. Then some lieutenant arrived, interrogated us. They took our fingerprints, photographed us and released, saying that it will be 15 days of detention next time”.

A human rights defender Nasta Lojka has informed to Euroradio that 21 people are standing trial in Minsk courts altogether: 4 people in the Lenin district court of Minsk, 4 people - in the Partyzanski district court, 8 people - in the Soviet district court, 5 people have already been sentenced by the Central district court (accused of bad swearing):

5 people have been already sentenced in the Central district court of Minsk. Only one surname is known - Kulbin. He has been fined for 700 thousand Br.

By the moment of 12.00 Siarhej Kanaplianik, Dzmitry Kozar, Dzmitry Belush, Maxim Rahavy, Andrej Dvaretski, Aliaksej Dvaretski, Maxim Charniauski and Andrej Tkachou have been delivered to the House of Justice. The trials have not started yet, the youngsters are sitting near the court's secretariat under convoy. They are allowed to talk to their friends and relatives. Yauhen Shybinski, who is also there at the moment, has informed this to Euroradio.

One of the detainees was put into a white car from the bus and driven in an unknown direction, a human right defender Alena Yakubouskaya has informed. She does not know his name, the only fact which is known about him is that he was arrested on December 19 last year. The trials will start after dinner. Judge Navitskaya will consider Maxim Charniauski's case in a separate cabinet, all the rest will stand trial in another court hall.
