Poland to help pay Ales Byalyatski’s fine
Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski has informed journalists about it in Poznań.
The third Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum is taking place there. According to “Narodnaya Volya”, representatives of the Belarusian delegation stood up to listen to Radoslaw Sikorski’s speech.
Let us remind you that Byalyatski was accused of major tax evasion. Financial documents presented by Lithuania and Poland were the reason for it. The human rights defender was sentenced to 4.5 years of imprisonment and confiscation of property. Many politicians and civil activists all over the world considered the sentence to be political.
Lawyers explained to Euroradio that Byalyatski would not be released even if he paid all the taxes.
