Senator John McCain urges to increase pressure against Belarusian regime
The American senator has also demanded to release human rights defender Ales Byalyatski and the other prisoners of conscience.
According to McCain, the arrest of Byalyatski is just one more reason why this regime deserves its status as an international pariah, informs the AFN.
The senator says that Belarus is “held captive by the last dictatorship in Europe”. In his opinion, the United States and Europe must remain united in supporting Belarusian civil society and political opposition. McCain has urged to increase the pressure against the Lukashenka regime, and deny international financial assistance to the official Minsk.
