UN demands to release Ales Byalyatski
The UN thinks that the imprisonment of the Belarusian political prisoner is arbitrary and demands to release him and pay a compensation.
The Working Group on Arbitrary Detention (WGAD) has pronounced its decision concerning Ales Byalyatski's case during its 64th session. The human rights defender's imprisonment is announced arbitrary, human rights website "Viasna" reports. The International organization has discovered violations of article 20 of the first paragraph of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and article 22 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.
WGAD thinks that the way out is to release Byalyatski and provide him with a legal compensation.
