Victoria Azarenka and Li Na to meet in Australian Open final
The Belarusian is close to winning the Australian Open for the second time on end.
Chinese tennis player Li Na has defeated Russian Maria Sharapova in the semi-final today – 6:2, 6:2.
Belarusian Victoria Azarenka played with American Sloan Stevens in the other semi-final. The latter had defeated invincible Serena Williams earlier. But Vika proved her superiority and won — 6:1, 6:4! However, Vika had to ask for medical assistance in the second set (when the score was 5:4) and left with doctors for a while. But she came back and continued the match.
The final is appointed for January 26.
Azarenka won the Australian Open last year and became the World No. 1. She still owns this title.
The prize fund of the tournament is $31 million.
