Russia has not decided whether to render financial assistance to Belarus
Russia has not made the decision about rendering financial assistance to Belarus yet, Russian deputy Minister of Finance Sergei Storchak told journalists. “The discussion of the issue needs to be continued,” he said. Storchak refused to comment on the details, RIA Novosti reports.
The issue was not discussed at the yesterday’s meeting of the Supreme Council of the Union State in Minsk. Nevertheless, Alyaksandr Lukashenka and Vladimir Putin could discuss it during their personal meeting. Belarus is hoping to get the Russian credit of $2bn from the Eurasian Development Bank. However, both Moscow and the IMF are taking their time.
