Russian ambassador visits Belarusian defense enterprises

On January 21, Russian Ambassador Mikhail Babich visited Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant and Peleng OAO, the press service of the Russian diplomatic mission reported.
Both enterprises are part of the defense structure and part of the Gosvoenprom Belarus. During the visit, the representative of Russia was accompanied by the head of the Belarusian defense concern Raman Halouchanka.
Babich discussed with Halouchanka, as well as the general director of MZKT Ihar Letau and the general director of OAO Peleng, Uladzimir Pakryshkin, the issues of Belarusian-Russian cooperation and future prospects.
About 90% of the production of the Minsk wheeled tractor plant is delivered to Russia. On the basis of the Belarusian chassis, the Topol-M strategic-purpose missile system, the Iskander operational-tactical missile system, and the Uragan rocket launcher and the S-300 and S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems are installed.
Peleng OAO cooperates with Russian defense enterprises in creating modern sighting systems for fire control systems of promising armored vehicles, as well as in developing of thermal sights for the BTR-82A and in developing the DU-72A machine-gun unit with KEMZ.
