Russian fleet commemorated in Brest

The Russo-Japanese War of 1905 was recalled in Russia on February 9. An ERB reporter has found a monument to participants of the Battle of Tsushima in the land city of Brest in Belarus. A special bay was created in the fence of the Fraternal Church for the monument installed about 10 year ago.

There is a board with a list of all Russian navy holidays near the monument.

A student of local lore and human rights defender Uladzimir Vyalichnkin told ERB: - I am a pacifist. However, sailors of Pinsk flotilla deserve such a monument.

A local democratic newspaper wrote about the dynasty of the Kasotonovs not long ago (about a dozen man-of-war's men and a hockey player). One of the Kasotonovs, a captain of the P rank, settled in Brest in Belarus. Some people think that the memorial to the Russian naval glory is connected with this active pensioner.
