Shortage of cigarettes in Homel
Cigarettes started disappearing from Homel before the New Year’s Day.
Sellers explained it by the future price increase back then. However, the prices significantly increased almost two weeks ago and it is still difficult to find cigarettes in the city, Motsnyya Naviny reports.
No cigarettes are being delivered, it is probably connected with the price increase, shop assistants say. It is necessary to sell the old stock first, they say.
Belarusian factories have not started working after the winter holidays yet, a private tobacco kiosk seller said. They are adjusting to their Russian partners.
The situation in some Homel district centres is catastrophic: hardly any cigarettes can be found there.
