Signatures in support of white-red-white flag collected in Minsk (photo)
Signatures in support of the idea of making the white-red-white flag a historical and cultural value was held in Minsk's Independence Avenue on September 24.
The action was organized by the Young Front and the organizing committee of the Belarusian Christian Democracy, svaboda.org reports. It started despite the detention of the organizers. Zmitser Dashkevich was detained in the morning and Syarhei Palcheuski was detained later.
Well-known people took part in the signature collection near the supermarket Tsentralny: writer Uladzimir Arlou, poet and politician Uladzimir Nyaklyayeu and painter Alyaksei Marachkin.
Activists moved from the street to the underpass near the metro station Kastrychnitskaya in the afternoon. They are planning to send the signatures to the city authorities.
