Singer Kobzon and journalist Kisyalyou affected by Canadian sanctions

Canada has imposed new sanctions on 37 physical entities and 17 Russian and Ukrainian enterprises, Canadian PM Steven Harper announced on his website, lenta.ru reports.

Russian deputy Minister of Defence Anatoliy Antonov, Rostech CEO Sergey Chemezov, deputy head of the Russian General Staff Andrei Kartopolov, State Duma member Valeriy Kulikov, leader of the motorcycle club Night Wolves Alexander Zaldostanov, KPRF member Valeriy Naryshkin, singer Iosif Kobzon and journalist Dmitriy Kiselyov have been affected by the sanctions.

The civil movement Novorossiya and the company Rosneft have also been blacklisted by Canada.

The Canadian government is in sympathy with the Ukrainian people ‘facing Putin’s regime aggression that has already killed 5300 people’.

“We are keeping a close eye on the fulfilment of the ceasefire agreement signed in Minsk on February 12 and are ready to impose more sanctions on Russia and militants if they do not stick to the provisions of the treaty,” Canadian PM Steven Harper claimed.
