Split in Popular Front party
The web site of the United Democratic Forces (UDF) reports that independent media received a letter from a group of famous activists from the party of the Belarusian Popular Front. The authors complain that since the leadership of the party changed six months ago the party "has begun gradually disappearing from the country's political life". "We feel responsible for the fate and the future of the Popular Front not only as the oldest democratic political force in the country but also as the main force to guarantee the return of Belarus to the independent path of free development. Therefore, we have no right to remain silenty", the letter said.
The letter was signed by Vaclau Areshka, Leanid Autukhou, Lyavon Barshcheuski, Mikola Busel, Uladzimir Vyalichkin, Vincuk Vyachorka Syarhei Housha, Viktar Ivashkevich, Alyaksandr Kaputski, Uladzimir Kishkurna, Iryna Laurouskaya, Alyaksei Marachkin, Alyaksandr Mekh, Anatol Paplauny, Viktar Ramanishka, Piotr Sadouski, Stanislau Sudnik, Valyantsina Svyatskaya, Yury Khadyka.
