State of emergency prolonged for three months in France
The lower chamber of the French Parliament decided to prolong the state of emergency for three months on Thursday, November 19.
According to the law, the President can introduce the state of emergency for up to 12 days. To prolong it, he needs the Parliament’s consent.
The state of emergency allows the authorities to limit people’s travels, impose a curfew, close public places, conduct searches without the court’s permission, control mass media and introduce other restrictions, foreign mass media report.
A series of terrorist attacks was organized in Paris on the evening of November 13. 129 people were killed.
