State refuses to build mosque in Minsk

The construction of a mosque in Minsk is put off because of the unjustified scale of the project. This is the opinion of the press secretary of the plenipotentiary on religious and national affaires Mihail Rybakou. BelTA reports that, according to the official, the mosque in the capital is meant to be much bigger than the real possibilities and needs of Muslims living in Minsk. So its scale is exaggerated.

As a result of this, the construction of the mosque in Hrybayeduy Street in Minsk has not been able to finish for a long time. However, the state keeps refusing to help Muslims construct the cult building to avoid creating a precedent.
