Svyatlana Aleksievich: It was fair, I cannot influence it
Nobel Prize nominee Svyatlana Aleksievich congratulates winner Alice Munro although she hasn't read her books.
Svyatlana Aleksievich: "I've been told about this, I am very happy and would like to congratulate the winner. This is a fair play and my attitude to this is like the one of any normal person. There are things you cannot influence. I don't think about this at various awards. I accept life as it is."
Svyatlana Aleksievich told Euroradio that he hadn't watched the live broadcasting of the Nobel Prize award ceremony, just learned the results from her friends.
This year, the Nobel Prize in literature has been awarded to Canadian writer Alice Munro, although, according to the bookmaking firm Ladbrokes, the Belarusian writer topped the betting charts several hours before the announcement of the Nobel Prize laureate.
