Terrorists take 10 hostages in Sloviansk
They want to exchange abducted American journalist Simon Ostrovsky for their arrested leader Pavel Gubarev.
The terrorists’ leader Vyacheslav Ponomaryov announced it, Ukrainian Pravda reports. The separatists had taken 10 hostages including local deputy Vadim Suhonos, Ponomaryov added.
Ostrovsky’s documents are being checked now. They will also try to find out the reason for his arrival in Sloviansk, Ponomaryov said. “He will stay with us until we find it out. Then we will either let him continue working in Sloviansk or exchange him to some of our members, like Pavel Gubarev. Ostrovsky is fine, he receives meals.”
Vice News reporter Ostrovsky was abducted on Tuesday, April 21. Ponomaryov admitted it on Wednesday. He is suspected of cooperation with the Right Sector for having American and Israeli passports, he said.
