"Transoil" builds pipeline bypassing Belarus
A Russian oil company “Transoil” has started the second part of construction of the Baltic Pipeline System (BPS-2) bypassing Belarus on June 10.
The pipeline BPS-2 will go through Unecha (Bryansk Region) – Ust-Luga (Leningrad Region) and have a branch leading towards Kirishskii oil processing plant. BelaPAN informs that the company is going to finish the construction by mid 2012.
The idea of the construction of a pipeline bypassing Belarus appeared in January 2007 during a conflict between Moscow and Minsk caused by terms of oil supplies.
