Trial of 14: Opposition supporters get suspended sentences

Mikhail Subach, Pavel Vinahradau have received two years of suspended sentence. Maxim Dashuk will serve one and a half years of suspended sentence, Mikhail Subach told the European Radio for Belarus.  Commenting on his impressions about the trial, Subach described them as positive. He liked that the witnesses were not lying.

Subach: "I had a very good impresion. But it has gone, because I regard the verdict as absolutely unfair".

The convicts will appeal the ruling.

The trial of the opposition supporters who joined the protest of entrepreneurs on January 10, 2008 in Minsk began yesterday. 10 people, associated with the same criminal case, had earlier been sentenced to fines.
