Ukrainian troops are fighting pro-Russia militants in this Donetsk Oblast city.
The Ukrainian troops have beaten off the assault of hundred of militants who lost dozens of people dead and wounded. 4 Ukrainian troops were killed and 30 were injured.
A Mi-24 was shot down over Sloviansk, military expert Dmitri Tymchuk reported. The crew survived. Militants used man-portable air-defense systems to shoot down 2 helicopters and damage one more over Sloviansk on May 2.
