Ukraine blacklists Depardieu
The actor ‘poses a threat to the national security’.
Ukraine has forbidden French actor Gérard Depardieu to enter its territory for 5 years, Apostrophe refers to the Ukrainian Security Service.
The Ukrainian authorities want to preserve the state security this way.
The list of 500 blacklisted art workers including the Frenchman has been sent to the SBU and the National Security and Defense Council and the National Broadcasting Council. The artists on the black list pose a threat to Ukraine’s national security.
Depardieu has a Russian passport. He received it to avoid high luxury taxes at home at the beginning of 2013. He loves Russia and Ukraine that is also part of Russia, the actor announced in Cannes on May 22. The French actor visited Belarus and met with Alyaksandr Lukashenka last week.
