Ukrainian fighter brought down in Lugansk Oblast
Armed separatists brought down a Ukrainian fighter MiG-29 on Sunday night, Ukrainian authorities report.
Press secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine Andrei Lysenko confirmed the information to the Ukrainian BBC service.
The pilot managed to bale out, ATO headquarters representative Leonid Matyuhin said.
“The pilot was delivered to a safe place after a rescue operation,” Matyuhin told Ukrainian Channel 5.
The Ukrainian troops are sending missiles towards Lugansk – their parts were found in the city, Russian Internet portal LifeNews reported earlier referring to separatists’ commanders.
The information has not been confirmed by any other sources, BBC reports.
