UN Secretary General calls to step up food production

Ban Ki-moon, the UN Secretary General, has called to raise food production in the world in respond to the soaring prices, reports Interfax.  He also said that he was to set up a group on the foodstuff crises to monitor the countries which could be destabilized by the threating developments.

The UN Secretary General believes that the growing oil prices, the weak US dollar and calamities contribute to the soaring prices for foodstuffs.
