UN Security Council makes no decision on Ukraine
United Nations Under-Secretary-General Jeffrey Feltman has made a speech at the meeting of the UN Security Council.
The UN cannot ignore reports about the participation of Russian troops in the war in Ukraine, he noted. The participation is a violation of the international law. However, the UN has no independent sources to confirm this fact as Russia is refuting everything, Feltman added.
Russia’s suggestion to cease fire in East Ukraine was not supported at the meeting. The document does not mention the fact that separatists prevent the Ukrainian government from delivering humanitarian aid, Lithuanian representative Raimonda Murmakaite noted.
