Unfinished ‘hockey’ hotels to keep all benefits
President's decree #57 of February 4, 2014 preserves all benefits for the hotels that will not be finished by World Ice Hockey Championship in May
The document has changed decree #360 of June 30, 2008. The words “for the 2014 World Ice Hockey Championship in Minsk” have been removed from it. The date of substantial completion has been moved from 2013 to 2014
However, all the tax benefits will be preserved. They were given on condition of building the hotels for the hockey championship that will be held in Minsk in May.
The construction of 24 hotels started in Minsk, Euroradio reported back then. However, the list was shortened to only 14 hotels two years later. The hotel Kemspinky near the Circus in Independence Avenue will not be finished before the championship either. The construction caused a lot of criticism even from representatives of the authorities.
