U.S. missile warning radar in Czech Republic will cost $550 mn

American experts have finished work in the Czech county of Brdy, where the U.S. plan to base a missile warning radar that will be part of the American missile defense shield in Europe, reports the Czech news agency CTK, quoting the country's defense ministry. The 38-people-strong group of experts included only 4 military officers. The rest were civilians.

The experts project that the U.S. anti-missile base in the Czeck Republic will be maintained by around 200 staff, including 120 U.S. servicemen.

The negotiations about the base could last for months, but the U.S. said they wanted to receive an answer from the Czech Republic about the location of the American strategic defense sites by the end of this year.

The radar base is estimated to cost around $550 million.
